This system automatically sorts and assembles multi-colored components into final parts.
Individual components are delivered to the system by vibratory feeders, which properly orient incoming parts. Components are robotically picked and placed into a rotary dial index. A color-sensing camera on the dial stores information in memory for color-coded assembly at subsequent stations.
Once on the rotary index, the components are sorted by color, press-fit assembled and ultrasonically welded. Product is then transferred to a second dial for further inspection. A pull test is performed to check the integrity of the part. Cameras then perform color and dimensional checks. Completed parts are laser-marked and robotically transferred to a flighted conveyor for color selective pack-out. |
