Pleater

This system handles a variety of web materials and sizes to manufacture high density air filters for the automotive industry.  The system incorporates advanced web-handling technology, including active web-alignment, web presence/tension control, static bars, de-curling, and dynamically balanced rollers.

The system features an expanding air-shafted, dual-roll unwind.  An automatic flying splice is incorporated for easy roll changeover.  After the unwind, the web goes through in-line edge slitting and web registration, followed by infrared heating for efficient scoring.  After scoring, a glue bead is applied, and the web is pleated.  Finally, a flying cut-off separates the pleated web into individual parts.
