Automotive Sensor Weld and Assembly
This turnkey system performs performs automated assembly on a sensor for use in the automotive industry. A series of operations are completed on a rotary dial index as the system processes and assembles precision components.
Components are automatically fed from a magazine into a rotary dial which is designed with two sets of custom-designed fixtures, for assembling three different families of parts.
Once placed on the dial, the parts are positioned and ultrasonically welded. The welded assembly is then robotically transferred to a linear system for metal trim removal and photo-sensing for quality inspection. A SCARA robot transfers final parts onto trays for conveyor packout.
